AUGUST 2024

2024 has been a challenging year for manufacturing businesses but thanks to our incredibly loyal customers and our steadfast and creative team, we are expanding our manufacturing capacity.

We are seeing success in selling to hotels, restaurants and coffee shops across North America with the custom creations and the folding event furniture.

We are looking to grow our team and are hiring an Artisan Woodworker, and a Shop Assistant.

For the Artisan Woodworker position we're looking for a skilled craftsperson with experience of reading plans and interpreting them to create a fully functional piece of art furniture. A career woodworker with a passion for wood who will find themselves at home in our ‘wood nerd’ culture. One of the great perks of this position is the option to use state of the art machinery in the wood shop after hours for personal projects.

There is also an opportunity to join the team as a Shop Assistant, to start at the beginning and learn the trade by hands on experience. Our holistic team approach and varied custom furniture means that no two projects are the same, which helps bring higher job satisfaction.

Can you or someone you know make an impact in the world of furniture with our team?

WHISTLER BOUND

We will be attending the BC Wood Global Buyer's Mission in beautiful Whistler, BC from September 5-7. The GBM is a great place to connect with old and new clients and suppliers and is a great reflection on the state of the wood industry and trends in the province.

Stay tuned for news about the island lounge space we'll be creating at the Global Buyers Mission alongside incredible Vancouver Island based wood artisans like Pacifica Woodwork, Centurion Lumber, Island Timber Tiles and Forest Cooperage.

LATEST CREATIONS

This summer, we built over 50 table bases and tops for the Sugarcane Restaurant Las Vegas. We worked closely with a Raeder-Whaler Purchasing Partners and with ICrave in order to build these beautiful tables. Opening date is set for August 24, 2024.

"Sugarcane serves modern American fare including raw bar, burgers, sushi, salads, bottomless brunch, lunch and dinner in a lively, welcoming space. The original Sugarcane, located in Midtown Miami just five minutes from both the Wynwood Arts and the Design District, has been a neighborhood favorite since opening its doors in 2010. The second location on Restaurant Row at The Venetian Las Vegas was opened in 2016, bringing Sugarcane's creative culinary offerings and casual vibes to Sin City. Recently, both spaces received Multi-Million Dollar Refreshes to offer our guests an updated experience. Both locations effortlessly bring Sugarcane’s quest to celebrate the simple pleasures in life—eating well and celebrating with friends—to vibrant life. Daily happy hours at both locations invite guests to experience Sugarcane at great prices, and the gorgeous event spaces at both locales warmly welcome parties of all sizes."

ARTISAN SPOTLIGHT

This month's feature artist spotlight falls on Samantha Dickie.

Samantha is a Contemporary Ceramic artist and member of the Fired Up! Group. Her minimalist abstract sculpture and architecturally scaled, multi- component installations have been featured in solo and group public gallery exhibitions across Canada.

Whether through collaborations with artists, exploration of unconventional materials, or incorporation of cultural references, the fusion of art and furniture design promises to push the boundaries of interior aesthetics and enrich the spaces we inhabit.
