We have some great news! Jake Humphrey of Pacifica Woodwork has joined our family!

Jake started with us years ago as a passionate 17 year old, giving him valuable experience working as a furniture maker, and a constant source of wood to turn on the weekends.

Pacifica Woodwork and Live Edge Design are merging and Jake is joining our team for good, marking the next chapter of our companies employee ownership journey. Jake's Pacific North West designs and woodworking talent will help us continue to evolve the #ThinkBeyondTheEdge side of our business, and his passion for client relationships aligns perfectly with our ethos.

We've really enjoyed working with Jake over the last 12 months, so this feels like a very organic, natural progression, and we are excited to see what we can accomplish together.

What would you like to see us build together? What does #ThinkBeyondTheEdge mean to you? I'd love to hear your thoughts - send them to me in an email at [email protected]

We are heading to VIDEX on March 7th! Read on to learn more about what will be in our booth and I hope to see some of your there to talk more about new designs and capabilities.

Thank you for reading along on our adventures.

WE'RE ATTENDING VIDEX 2025

We are attending VIDEX March 7th 2025 at the Delta Ocean Point Hotel in Victoria. Come by and ask us any questions you have about the merger or if you have a custom furniture ideas brewing.

The design industry is forever changing - lately, rather than going with colour, designers are opting to layer textures to produce depth within a space.

Designers do this to enhance both visual and tactile experiences. Whether through rough natural stone, soft textiles, or sleek metals, texture plays a crucial role in defining a design aesthetic.

It can create contrast, evoke emotions, and establish a sense of balance within a space. In minimalist interiors, subtle textures add interest without overwhelming simplicity, while in maximalist designs, bold textures layer richness and complexity. By thoughtfully integrating texture, designers craft spaces that feel dynamic, inviting, and true to their intended aesthetic.

We are pushing the bounds of what can be done with wood by introducing a new dimension, not only just with textures, but with depth and colour. Adding texture to wooden furniture is a brilliant way to elevate its aesthetic and create a more engaging, tactile experience as well as extending the lifetime of pieces in high use areas. Wood, with its natural grains and tones, is already a versatile material, but when combined with various textures and techniques, it can truly transform a piece.

See images below for design inspiration and stay tuned to our newsletter to see more texture options. Look for our booth at VIDEX with samples of textures and works we have previously done. See you soon!
