Spring 2024

As I reflect back over the Spring (and my camera roll), I am filled with inspiration.

Inspiration for me comes from connection and there's been a blessed abundance of connection this Spring.

Read on to find out more about my travels to deliver lunch and learns and check in on clients in Dallas, Texas. My experience at HD Expo in Vegas and the awesome 'Women in Design' awards breakfast as well as an inspiring AI presentation that I must share!

Those of you that followed my foray into homeschooling during Covid will have met O + W online but this is my first time talking about them since transitioning to my new role. Running a business full time and being a mom is a challenge I see many professional women facing. Thank you for showing me that it's possible Ann Squires Ferguson and Stacey Shoemaker Rauen. Making time to connect with my kids in nature is very soul filling for me (W seen below climbing a small patch of Western Red Alder and reaching new heights).

Everything's Bigger in Texas!

Well, Dallas for sure. Big buildings, big hotels and big hearts!

Donna spent a day in Dallas, at the beginning of May checking in on a few clients and few of our creations. Including a series of mobile porcelain topped tables for a large format buffet service.

These tables are designed with a hidden wheel mechanism for mobility on 9' l x 4' w tables of soldi wood and porcelain to make event set up easy and sleek, creating a luxurious guest experience.

HD Expo in Las Vegas

At the end of April, I spent 2 days at the HD Expo in Las Vegas to connect with clients, walk the floor and celebrate the best in hospitality design.

Two days is not long enough to walk the entire floor and see every presentation but here are some highlights of what I was able to see...

Again...in the social hub I watched thought leaders of the hospitality industry share their experiences of designing for authentic guest experiences, talking trends of F&B investment and their knowledge of designing spaces that need to flex with event needs or morph as the day progresses.

Whilst enjoying the SocialHUB Lounge designed by Wimberly Interiors my world was transformed by this captivating presentation by John Duffield on the use of AI in the Hospitality Industry for creative inspiration, research aggregation and productivity.

Sharing it here as it is such a great resource on how we can all take steps to embrace the future.
