Since 1996, the Duncan Cowichan Chamber has hosted the Black Tie Awards, Cowichan's premier celebration of excellence. This prestigious event shines a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of businesses, individuals, and organizations across the Cowichan Valley Regional District, honouring their hard work and dedication. Nominations ran from October 2022 - January 2023. For the full list of Nominees CLICK HERE
On May 9th we were the proud sponsor of the Art in business award at the Cowichan Valley Black Tie Awards 2023. This is an award that we were lucky enough to win in 2015 and be nominated for in 2005. As the incoming president at Live Edge Design, I'm new to the stage but not new to the art and business scene in the Cowichan Valley. We have such a rich canvas of art in the Cowichan Valley and I believe the success of this is due to the way in which we have been able to beautifully blend the business and art worlds together.
I want to remind you that the Art in Business award celebrates those that demonstrate innovative business practices, influence and leadership in the arts, and community commitment and the diversity of the finalists this year could not be wider.
We would like to give a special shout-out to the Duncan Festival Society - the winner of the Art in Business award, but also acknowledge the other wonderful companies such as MNP, Mathew Ronald Jones Realty, Chemainus Theatre and many more as well as the three nominees that are ex Live Edge Design employees - Pacifica Woodworks, PlentiFILL Refillery and Little Bird. The next Black Tie Awards will be held in 2025. The community's support is what makes this event possible and oh so special. Thank you.
Donna, President, Live Edge Design Inc.
