Modern Rustic Retreat
More than 17 years ago we started creating natural west coast furniture for the hospitality industry with Tigh Na Mara Resort and Spa in Parksville.
During the resort's recent and remarkable renovations we have had the pleasure of giving each Western Red Alder sapling a modern, fresh 'facelift'.
These pieces have stood the test of time and add such a warmth and natural aesthetic to this modern West Coast getaway.

/shore · line/
noun
1. The line along which a large body of water meets the land
2. A boundary line
Shoreline fill edges are the best of both worlds. Shoreline edges combine beautiful, curvaceous live edges with elegant straight edges using resin.
INSPIRED BY NATURE
This month we've been experimenting with textures and colors to bring nature inside. Using different patterns and sanding methods as well as finish colors to emulate the natural world around us so they can lend a residential, natural feel but be used in high traffic, commercial settings.
Textured ash and chalk stain to mimic white sand beaches.
Textured ash frame with dark stain to mimic aged basalt.
And our favorite...figured western maple with all the color and grain movement reminiscent of moving water. But which one is which?
CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
"[Our] Nita Lake Console Table is stunning. I'm currently in Quebec City, but have seen a photo that looks marvelous. Can't wait to get back home and see the table up close. Thank you so much for your understanding and great service. We now have a legacy piece that will go to one of our boys at some point."

HISTORY OF CITY HALL ANNEX
Nanaimo City Hall Annex building was built in 1938 at 238 Franklin St in Nanaimo, BC. The City Hall had to come down in 2017. A developer bought the land and has now built condos at that site. City Hall had to come down because it did not meet current seismic restrictions for this area. Many of the fir beams used in the original construction were sold or given to Live Edge Design Inc. for use in custom furniture creations.
We were fortunate enough to receive reclaimed beams to use for multiple jobs in the last couple of months including Pat and Ken's Nita Lake console table (pictured above).
